achilles' head was filled with notions and the idea of his great power from childhood. his mother and father both swore he would be the greatest of the greeks-- a true soldier, a future king, a god amongst men. achilles worked hard and learned all that he could in the hopes of living up to the expectations of his parents.thetis' zeal about making her son a hero was dashed when she received a warning-- either achilles would become a great hero and die young, or he would die forgotten at an old age. she demanded achilles remain away from any wars, but when the call to sail to troy came around, achilles knew what path he'd take.thetis would not have it, and she sent achilles to skyros. the price for safety is an agreement made by the goddess, and achilles was forced to marry princess deidamia.
it was not a happy match, and achilles was miserable on skyros while he was there. the two had a son, neoptolemus, though achilles never got to meet his son before odysseus found him hiding and brought him to troy.achilles sails to troy, and fights in the war for several years before deciding he'd had enough. he'd grown bored, and takes his first chance to step away. and he nearly leaves before patroclus takes his armor and dies in his stead. enraged, achilles kills hector of troy in revenge. he knows it's a waiting game now. it's only a matter of time.achilles is killed not long after by hector's younger brother paris. it's a relief to achilles when he dies. as he'd asked, he is buried with patroclus.achilles does not go to elysium like patroclus, but wanders alone in asphodel, lost to his grief.

life before becoming a padawan doesn't matter to ahsoka. some might miss their old lives, or feel like they've lost something when they came to join the jedi order, but ahsoka couldn't wait to get off-planet and join up. she was meant to be a jedi-- destined, really, and it was only a matter of time before someone saw it and got her out of there.she threw herself into training immediately, working hard to prove herself to the order itself, and then her jedi master anakin skywalker. while the two initially butted heads, ahsoka and anakin came to have a brother sister relationship that was cherished deeply by ahsoka. they would always be a team, and she could always count on them.until, of course, she couldn't. while ahsoka knew anakin believed her when she was framed for an attack on the jedi temple, it wasn't enough to keep the order from turning against her. in turn, she turned against the order, and even after she was cleared of all charges, she turned her back on the order and anakin to step into a life beyond those who meant everything to her.
eventually, ahsoka was called upon to help with the occupation of mandalore by darth maul. with her former clone troop at her side, ahsoka stepped back into her old life to help old friends. maul was captured, and ahsoka saw a glimpse of what life could be if she returned to the order.that, of course, didn't last long either-- order 66 caused ahsoka to have to flee, and she spent years living in solitude until the rebellion called upon her to fight against the empire. she took on the monicker fulcrum, and worked behind the scenes to turn the tide in justice's favor and fix the mistake she made years ago when she lost anakin.alternate verses include:
champion of mandalore. ahsoka becomes the wielder of the dark saber after her actions in mandalore with removing maul from power, and serves loyally until the rebellion in the empire.
kenobi au. ahsoka accompanies leia to alderaan, and acts as her protector in the same way obi-wan does for luke.

frederick chase had planned to dedicate his entire life to his work. he never expected to become a father, especially not the father to a demigod. annabeth spent her first five years hanging out in the libraries and lecture halls of griffith university while her father taught classes.things changed when frederick met helene newton. helene was an american artist, and she and frederick quickly bonded over their shared love for art history. six months later, the two had a small wedding, and within the year, the chases had moved back to helene's hometown in richmond, virginia.the pressure from her stepmother as well as her struggles with being a demigod led her to run away when she was seven. eventually, annabeth joined up with thalia and luke. they were able to make their way to camp half-blood-- to safety-- but thalia sacrificed herself to make sure annabeth made it over the border.annabeth is claimed as a child of athena, and becomes head counselor of athena's cabin when she was ten. when she was twelve, percy jackson came to chb. the two of them went on a quest together, and annabeth's fate became intertwined with percy's. they fought side-by-side during the titan's war.they got a few moments of peace before percy went missing. annabeth was eventually able to track him down, and became one of seven in the prophecy that brought about the second giant's war.percy and annabeth fell into tartarus, and were trapped there until finally they were able to free themselves. however, annabeth was cursed by polyphemus during their time there, and was partially blinded before they were able to escape. she and percy still fight alongside their parents in the war, and finally achieve victory.
post-heroes of olympus. note that i do not adhere to the books after the end of this series, and do not consider anything from toa onwards canon for my version of annabeth.annabeth goes to new rome for university, but barely makes it a year into her education before she drops out. discontent, she returns to chb to try and reorient herself. she cuts herself off from the gods, takes ownership of a plot of land by chb, and gets to work doing what she knows-- she builds.new athens. it starts as a solo project, but eventually, others begin helping annabeth. the nymphs living in chb and some other demigods, as well as the cyclopes begin working with annabeth, and work increases.during this time, she met the norse demigod cenric mathison. they briefly dated, and annabeth's son was conceived during this time. cenric was not involved in her life after an amicable breakup, and annabeth raised her son luca thalein chase on her own.after years of work, new athens was finally complete-- a beautiful city of marble where the greeks can live in peace. it takes eight years to finish, and once it's done, annabeth takes over as its leader, and runs new athens.more info will be added on new athens, and will be linked here when i finish it so y'all can read more about it for more details on this verse. it is an exclusive verse, meaning it and its canon are not up for grabs to other annabeths.alternate verses include:roman au. annabeth is raised in camp jupiter rather than chb.team kronos. annabeth leaves with luke, and remains loyal to him until she realizes kronos has taken him over in a way that he can't come back from. she becomes a traitor and rejoins chb's side after the battle of the labyrinth.

arya's life follows the basic course of the show until she flees braavos after leaving the faceless men, and catches a ship back to westeros. killing meryn trant did not satisfy her as much as she thought it would, nor did the other deaths she managed to cross off her list. she decides to give up her quest for revenge after one final act– the destruction of house frey.using her skills as a faceless man, arya kills much of house frey before she begins the long journey north. she must acknowledge during the trek that much of her quest for revenge was to avoid grief. it gave her something to do other than feel the loss of her family and friends. she’s angry at herself for leaving westeros and her family behind– sansa especially, who had been left to the lions when arya had been spirited away from king’s landing.reuniting with sansa is the most intimidating of them all, but she’s more determined than ever to mend her relationship with her sister and never let her down again. she uncovers littlefinger’s plotting and works alongside sansa to sow the seeds of discord to lure him into their trap. arya kills him, and solidifies herself not only as an ally to her sister, but as someone to be wary of.arya fights during the long night, and is one of the lucky to make it through. she ends the fight by killing the night king when he tries to kill bran. she mourns the losses the north has faced.
there’s one last battle left before them. arya rides south with jon; she won’t let him die like ned had, or robb. she can’t bear it. they are separated during the fight in king’s landing, and are only able to reunite after daenerys’ death.furious at jon and struggling with the guilt of seeing too much of herself in his actions, arya returns north and lets herself be lost to grief. but this time, she does not have to face it alone. she has her sister. the she-wolves of winterfell raise the banner of house stark together.alternate versions of arya's story include the following:prisoner in king's landing. arya does not escape king’s landing, and is held hostage in king’s landing alongside her sister, sansa. she is either married off to tommen when margaery is engaged to joffrey, or kept in king’s landing in some other capacity. this verse is pretty flexible.lady bolton. based on the books where ramsay marries jeyne poole pretending to be arya, this plot has arya being captured by the boltons after the red wedding. she is taken back up north and married off to ramsay rather than jeyne after ramsay is legitimized. this verse is heavy on abuse due to ramsay’s disgusting nature, so just be aware of that.the wolf of winterfell. post-show, arya serves as her sister's protector in the winter court.

his life since then has been torture– literally and figuratively, as he was bound to the sick whims and control of cazador szarr, an eccentric and cruel vampire who sought to ascend through the creation of thousands of spawn. astarion and his new siblings were used to gather more souls for him, though they had no idea that’s what they were doing at the time.when astarion was abducted in baldur’s gate, it was a blessing. suddenly he was free to walk in the sun, out of cazador’s control, and remembered what life felt like again. he joins the party in act 1 to give himself some hint of safety, and ends up remaining with them all the way to baldur’s gate.together, they stop cazador’s ascension and get justice for astarion and all the other spawn cazador made. he releases the spawn cazador has made and sends them to make a life for themselves in the underdark.post-game. astarion remains in baldur's gate, though he spends some time in the underdark too. he takes over cazador's palace. more tba as i figure this out.

for carlisle, life began twice. his human life began in london, where he was the son of a pastor during a time of religious and political radicalism. it was here that he learned of the superstition and hatred that existed within humanity, and the ugliness of humans. his father preached the word of god, but carlisle was never content in how those words were carried out in anger and prejudice, even if that prejudice was at times turns towards something besides other humans.carlisle's vampire life began when he was in his late 20s-- for the time, well into his life proper. he was turned by a lone vampire who left him to be killed by the religious zealots carlisle's father had fostered in london. not wanting to put that choice on his father-- and perhaps more importantly, not wanting to see the choice he'd make-- carlisle fled london.carlisle refused to drink human blood, and nearly starved himself into delirium until, in an act of desperation, he fed on animal blood. to his immense relief, he discovered he could survive by drinking animal blood instead of giving in to the desire for human blood. in all his centuries, he never tried human blood.carlisle decided to leave england in search of community, and ended up in italy, where he met aro and was brought into the fold of the volturi. he discovered something horrifying in the time he spent with the volturi, which was he had the ability to tell when a life was ready to end. the volturi fed on thousands whose lives were cut too-short. eventually, carlisle decided to leave, unable to watch this continue any longer.
it was after this that carlisle decided he needed to dedicate himself properly to a cause. he couldn't let being a vampire be his sole identity. he opted to move back to england, finish his education, and slowly worked his way through med school. this ended up working out in more ways than one-- not only could he be part of the human world again, but he made friends, and felt a sense of community he'd longed for for centuries.he never intended to start a coven of his own, but when he met a woman and her son dying of spanish influenza in an american hospital, his resolve to never turn someone else into a vampire shattered. he could see the boy's life stretch out before him, but it couldn't continue with him as a human. carlisle made the difficult decision to turn edward into a vampire.over the years, more joined their little group, and they eventually became a proper coven. those within the coven adhered to carlisle's lifestyle of only consuming the blood of animals, and carlisle found he was happier than he'd ever been. having to move every couple decades was hardly a high price to pay for being part of something again.things were peaceful in the coven until edward fell for a human. it had happened before with plenty of them, but something about this was different. carlisle vowed to protect not just the coven, but those who meant something to its members, and for edward, that meant bella swan.carlisle supports his coven throughout everything; his story generally follows the course of the movies more than the books. more tba.

edwina's birth itself was a scandal. born to an earl's daughter and common tradesman, there was lots of talk about the circumstances of her mother's marriage to her father in the social circles of england. thankfully for edwina, her family was one built on love and care, and she was raised far away from the talk of london society.however, edwina was prepared for english society by her half-sister kate, who encouraged her education in a wide variety of subjects and talents. what edwina didn't know was that this was done by kate with ulterior motives. edwina's grandparents had promised to bring edwina back into the sheffield family inheritance if edwina married an englishman of good social status.

eurydice's shade traveled to the underworld, where she waited to start her afterlife. but she was given a chance-- she can try to leave the underworld with orpheus, but if he looks back, she'll be sent back and be lost forever. eurydice, trusting her lover, followed where he led.they were almost out when orpheus turned back to make sure she was following. eurydice, griefstricken, was forced to return to the underworld, and becomes one of the many faceless shades, waiting to hear orpheus' song signaling his return to her.any way the wind blows. in which orpheus succeeds, and eurydice gets to live up top with him.

halsin joins the party at the end of act 1, and accompanies them to the shadow cursed lands. he either remains in the newly cured lands at the end of act 2, or accompanies the party to baldur’s gate depending on what they want.act 1. halsin goes in search of answerrs about the tadpoles, and is captured by goblins while in his bear form. he is freed by the party, and agrees to be their guide in the shadow cursed lands.act 2. halsin travels with the party to the shadow cursed lands and helps thaniel/oliver reunite. he either accompanies the party to baldur's gate or remains in the newly cured lands to protect oliver and thaniel.act 3. halsin travels to baldur's gate and helps in the final fight against the netherbrain. during his time in the city, halsin becomes aware of how poorly the city has treated many, and vows to do something about it when the conflict is over.post-game. halsin returns to the former shadow cursed lands and helps set up a new druid grove there. he opens the lands for those looking for sanctuary after the fight in baldur's gate-- there is a home for anyone there, no matter where they're from. this is pretty flexible; halsin travels frequently and can go basically anywhere.

iphthime never met her father. she was born six months after the king of ithaca departed for war, and raised alongside her older brother, telemachus. iphthime's childhood is vibrant and full of life, and she's just the same. she is very close to her paternal grandmother and aunt, and competitive against her brother. penelope raises her children under spartan principles since that's how she was raised.when penelope stalls the suitors with her ruse of finishing the funeral shroud of odysseus, penelope opts to send her daughter away from ithaca and away from the attention of the suitors. helen and menelaus gladly take in iphthime as their ward, and continue to raise her under spartan principles.reality becomes a lot more intimidating here. with tales of the war and menelaus' stories of having to reclaim mycenae after his father had been overthrown, iphthime has to start thinking of the possibility that her mother and brother could be chased from ithaca if the suitors get too bold.
so she learns. the playful child she once was is abandoned, and iphthime becomes much more serious and disciplined. she will do whatever it takes to keep her family safe, and if she cannot, then to take revenge for their loss. she trains in archery among other things, and impatiently waits for word from her family in the hopes that she can return home to a peaceful ithaca.telemachus collects iphthime from sparta when he travels there during the telemachy, and brings her back to ithaca with him. there, they are reunited with their father, and iphthime is present as odysseus kills the suitors, away from the fighting but armed with her bow. the rest of her family is fighting to reclaim their home-- she is glad to do the same.iphthime spends time with her father, discovering how much the two of them have in common and glad to hear his stories. she is content to remain home in ithaca, not wanting to miss another moment in her beloved homeland. more tba.

joffrey is the third son of rhaenyra targaryen and (officially) laenor velaryon, though his true father is harwin strong. as the third born, joffrey never felt as much pressure as his brothers that he would one day be king-- he took his lessons seriously, but knew even from a young age that he did not have to worry about ruling one day.that changed when lucerys died. joffrey was sent to the vale for his own safety, but he felt the pressure of his birthright and that of his mother. he'd already lost lucerys-- what if his mother was killed? what if jacerys was killed?

marin's birth was yet another insult to house royce. with the marriage between rhea royce and prince daemon targaryen unconsummated, the fact that a white-haired bastard was born in runestone less than a year after daemon left for dragonstone did not go unnoticed by house royce.rhea held no true malice towards the child, but decided to send marin to live with her cousin gerold royce as his ward to keep her out of the public eye and ire. marin grew up in the eyrie, aware of her lineage but unwilling to make any claim towards it. lord royce was as good as her father in her eyes, and her loyalty remained firmly with house royce.rhea's unexpected death rattled marin greatly, as gerold's suspicion that daemon was responsible tainted her good will towards the royal family, but towards gerold as well. he was her guardian, but still sought to see her father punished for rhea's death without any real proof. things were tense between them until daemon and his new bride laena left westeros, presumably for good.gerold made the decision to legitimize marin, but as a royce. with no children of his own to carry his name, marin was made his heir. she did not delusion herself thinking it was out of just love for her after she'd grown up as his ward-- it's spite, a slight towards daemon when it came to the succession of runestone.

the two went to troy together, and patroklos joined achilles' myrmidons. he fought alongside him-- human where achilles seemed divine, determined where achilles was driven. he saw the weight of the war upon his friend's shoulders, and sought to ease that burden where he could in his own careful way.but no bond of friendship or love could stand against achilles' stubbornness. when briseis was taken from the myrmidon camp, achilles refused to fight alongside the other greeks until the slight was atoned for. patroklos begged, he pleaded and reasoned, but achilles would not budge.so patroklos did what he realized he'd spent his life training to do. he donned achilles' armor and rode into battle in his place, leading the myrmidons as if he was their commander.it took three men and a god to take patroklos down, and even then, he didn't make it easy. he died a hero. he died the best of them.

seril's life was always meant to go in one direction, ever since she was young-- she would serve the monarch of naboo like her mother. it was a noble tradition for the aldiris family, and even though seril did not carry the family name, she accepted the responsibilities of their legacy as a ward of the family.when she was old enough, seril joined the handmaidens of padme amidala, and was a decoy for the young queen during her time as monarch of naboo.it had been seril's intention to continue to serve the next queen, but her brother elduin was chosen to be trained as a jedi soon after. while jedi might have to give up all attachments, seril did not. she asked padme if she could join her retinue, and was able to travel with her to coruscant. even from a distance, she could watch over her brother.but she couldn't protect him. when seril heard that the jedi temple was under attack, she rushed to try and find her brother.

shireen was a beacon of light after so much loss for her family. in the aftermath of robert's rebellion and with three elder brothers all stillborns, having a healthy baby girl born to house baratheon felt like it was a sign from the gods of their right to ascend through robert.however, shireen contracted greyscale when she was still a baby. terrified of losing another child, stannis did everything he could to cure her. by some miracle, the greyscale stopped spreading, leaving only the scars of the disease behind. but shireen considered them a mark of honor that showed she was a fighter just as much as her father.when the war of the five kings begins, shireen travels with her father's army during his pursuit of the throne. she sturies and prepares in anticipation of her future ascension to the throne. she assisted davos seaworth in his position as hand of the king, teaching him to read and acting as a young but still insightful advisor to him and her father.shireen did not share stannis' radical views when it came to the lord of light, but kept her disapproval to herself as much as she could. she did her best to be a good daughter-- to be a good princess and future queen. she would make her family proud, and do whatever it took to help stannis.

theldry is the youngest child of lyonel strong and his wife, and the jewel of her family. she came to king's landing with her father, and served as a caretaker for the royal children and maid to princess rhaenyra targaryen.after the fire at harrenhal that took the lives of her father and brother, theldry left king's landing and her home to go with rhaenyra to dragonstone. she had so little family left, she would not abandon her nephews, and she would not let rhaenyra face the threat of the greens alone.theldry continues to serve rhaenyra after the death of king viserys, and brings whatever influence that she can through her family and their name to rhaenyra's campaign for the throne. she remains caretaker to the royal children during the dance of dragons.

wiress grew up knowing they were odd, but there was never any issue in their mind about it. odd things are interesting, they're exciting, and wiress was just another one of those things in her little world of district 3. she worked alongside her brother declan and father in their little shop. life was simple and good, and work was just a series of fun puzzles for wiress to solve.when wiress was picked to be a tribute, everyone thought someone would volunteer for her to save the family from watching their bright little light go into the arena. but no one did, so off wiress went to the capitol.the arena itself was just another puzzle, only this one was made of mirrors and light. even the gamemakers couldn't figure it out, but wiress? wiress did the impossible, and won the games without spilling a drop of blood herself. she returned home victorious, and still unapologetically herself.
this changed the following year. when mentoring district 12's kids went horribly wrong through some scheme wiress didn't know anything about, she and her fellow mentor mags were punished soundly for it. her fragile wiring was scrambled, and wiress found herself broken in a way she'd never let the games hurt her.beetee was a welcome friend in this time. with his help and the love and care of her family, wiress found parts of herself in the puzzle again. recovery was slow, but not impossible. she could-- and would-- get better, get stronger, get back to herself and belong to no one but her after what the capitol put her through.for the second time in their life, everyone throught someone would volunteer when wiress was chosen for the 75th hunger games. no one did, so off wiress went to the capitol...alternate. wiress survives in the arena long enough to be taken by the capitol. more details tba.
